COVID VACCINATION 2ND VACCINE
The JCVI have reviewed dose intervals and have concluded that eight weeks remains the appropriate interval for administration of the 2nd vaccine. This is based on research that demonstrates a greater vaccine efficacy or protection at this interval for AZ and Pfizer.
There are some exceptions to this which should be judged on a case by case basis. These exceptions include:
Where a patient has planned immunosuppressive therapy. The Green Book advises that second vaccination can occur after 3 weeks and before immunosuppression starts where possible
For Covid boosters we are unable to book these until you are 180 days or 6 months from your 2nd vaccination.

Please share this important update with your patients
From (Wednesday 21 July) the Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner Service at Mount Vernon Hospital (previously the minor injuries unit) has opened up a direct phone line for patients to contact to book an appointment if they have a minor injury such as a cut, graze, minor burn or simple broken bone.
This is in addition to the usual method patients can use to book an appointment though NHS 111 online and by phone.
To book an appointment, if required, patients can call the service directly on 01923 844263 between 8am and 7pm, 7 days a week.
Important Update - All consultations are now telephone consultations, if the Doctor feels you need to be seen they will book you a face to face appointment.
We are pleased to announce that most routine blood-samples can now be taken at the practice or one of our Network practices, rather than at the hospital. If your doctor needs to check your bloods, your appointment will be made by the practice and you will be sent a text with details of location, date and time. More details available at reception. Existing arrangements are still in place to support house-bound patients.
COVID 19 Update - In order to reduce the risk to patients and staff we will be changing the way the surgery operates for the foreseeable future. All Doctor Appointments will from now be telephone consultations . You will be telephoned on the day of your appointment by a GP do not come in to the surgery.
